What is Twickets?

Twickets is an ethical fan-to-fan ticket resale marketplace, capping prices at the original face value of the ticket. Although they add their own fee of between 10-15%, you can still find some genuine bargains here, and can often find tickets for sold out shows.

The best thing about Twickets is that sellers can also sell their unwanted tickets for less than their original value - so you can often find tickets for much less than you can find anywhere else, especially as a performance approaches.

Twickets re-sell all kinds of tickets, including concerts and sporting events. If you're looking specifically for theatre tickets, you can filter on these only, and you can usually find around 10-20 West End or Off-West End shows for any given day.

We have purchased many tickets from here for substantially less than the expected price elsewhere!

Is Buying Tickets on Twickets Safe?

Unlike buying tickets from an official vendor, buying tickets from Twickets does come with a small risk. You are putting your trust in the seller, as there is nothing really stopping then from duplicating the tickets they are selling and using these to get into the show first.

Also, in some cases you are reliant on the seller sending you the tickets. This only applies to tickets that need an App or are physical tickets and require posting, but for the majority of tickets, Twickets will send you them as soon as you have confirmed your purchase. See further down this post for more details about this.

However, Twickets is the trusted reseller of many theatres in London, including the Royal Albert Hall and ATG, which owns 10 of the theatres in the West End. We have used Twickets dozens of times and have never had a single issue, but there is still that inherent risk of something going awry.

Twickets will still refund you if there is an issue your tickets, or they aren't as described.

Understanding Pricing

While tickets prices on Twickets are capped at their original face value, this doesn't always mean that you won't be able to find cheaper tickets elsewhere. If the seller purchased their original tickets from a vendor that was adding large commissions to tickets, they could have been purchased for well above the average price. So you should always do your due diligence and check elsewhere to ensure it's a fair price.

Tip

You can use the pricing tab on our show pages to get a good feel for what you should pay for a particular show.

If a seller is keen to sell their tickets, they will often list them for a discounted rate. They are more likely to add a discount if they're not confident about selling these, and can increase this discount further as the performance date approaches.

Placing an Offer

Another killer feature on Twickets is the Offer Placement system. If a seller is desperate to off-load their tickets, they will allow buyers to place an offer on their unwanted tickets.

1

Look for listings with Accepting Offers

2

Click Buy to open the listing, then click on Make an Offer

3

You can enter any offer as low as 30% of the current asking price. However, a seller is unlikely to accept this unless they are really desperate.

4

You are limited to making 3 offers per listing, so if a seller declines your first offer, you can increase your subsequent offers.

5

Be aware that other buyers could secure these tickets in the meantime, so if it looks like a great deal anyway, it's safer just to purchase them.

6

If the seller accepts your offer, this does not mean these tickets are yours. You still need to purchase these before anyone else buys them at another rate.

Using Twickets to Find Tickets

Ticket Stream

The Ticket Stream is where you can find all listings currently being offered. This can be accessed from the following link:

Filter by Theatre & Arts and London

You can also filter on a specific date-range, either Today, Tomorrow, This Week, This Month, Over a Month Away

The better deals will tend to be found closer to their show time, but you can still find some great deals if you look ahead.

You will see some listings here with Make an Offer, as described above.

You should specifically only look for deals with the following symbol . This means that the ticket is electronic, but it could still mean you may need to download an App and have the seller transfer them. Theatre tickets generally don't require specific apps however.

Information

Look out for listings with an exclamation mark. This could means that the tickets are only for children or students, and could also mean they are restricted viewing seats.

Ticket Alerts

Another useful feature is their ticket alerting system. You can set up to 10 alerts on shows you are interested in. Unfortunately, Twickets now only let you set up an alert for a specific date rather than a show in general, so it's not nearly as useful as it used to be.

Is Twickets Worth It?

100%

In fact, we would go as far as to say it's the best source for finding cheap theatre tickets in London! Many of the cheapest tickets we've ever purchased for shows have been from here, and we often find premium seating at a 60%+ discount, especially once you learn to exploit the Make an Offer system. You can secure tickets for far less than you can find anywhere else - this includes tickets on promotion.
