Tartuffe (Remixed)
Tartuffe (Remixed) is a new version of Molière's comedy, written and directed by Darren Raymond, relocated to a Nigerian-Jamaican household in modern England and written in rhyming couplets, with spoken word and music. The Afolabi-Williams family gathers at Oga Afolabi's mansion to prepare for his daughter's wedding. When Pastor Blake, a charismatic man of God who has won Oga's trust, moves into the family home, old wounds reopen and loyalties are tested.
Mark Rylance plays Pastor Blake, with Usifu Jalloh as Oga and Nakeba Buchanan as Elmire, alongside an ensemble of Intermission Youth graduates. The running time is 2 hours 30 minutes including a 20-minute interval, and the age recommendation is 12+.
