Thick & Tight: Camp as Christmas

Camp as Christmas is a one-hour festive cabaret that playfully sends up the season with dance, drag, mime, lip-syncing and satire. It is the world premiere of a new show from Thick & Tight, the queer dance theatre company founded in 2012 and led by co-directors Daniel Hay-Gordon and El Perry, who perform alongside guest artists.

Commissioned for the Southbank Centre's 75th anniversary, it features characters including the Virgin Mary, Father Christmas, Judy Garland, Sarah Ferguson and the Devil, with show tunes, quick costume changes and carols. It is recommended for audiences aged 15 and over.

Where to sit

The Purcell Room is a single steeply raked block of around 300 seats with no circle, so every seat has a clear view. The middle rows, centre, give the best balance; the front rows sit close to a low stage, which suits a cabaret well.
