The Almeida Theatre, originally built in 1837 as a literary and scientific society, was converted into a theatre in 1980 and quickly established itself as a leading venue for innovative and challenging productions. Directions
The Almeida Theatre is located on Almeida Street in Islington. The nearest Tube station is Angel (Northern Line), which is approximately a 5-7 minute walk away. From Angel station, exit onto Upper Street and walk north. Almeida Street is a turning on your right. Highbury & Islington station (Victoria Line and Overground) is also accessible, requiring a slightly longer walk (around 15-20 minutes) or a short bus ride.
