About The Venue

The London Coliseum, opened in 1904 and designed by Frank Matcham, is one of London's largest and most opulent theatres. Originally a variety theatre, it now serves as the home of the English National Opera (ENO) and hosts performances by the English National Ballet. Its grand Edwardian Baroque architecture, featuring a magnificent dome, creates a lavish and historic atmosphere, making it a significant landmark in London's theatreland.

Seating

The Stalls, located on the ground floor, offer the closest proximity to the stage. The rake is generally good, providing clear sightlines over the heads of those in front, though it feels less pronounced in the very front rows. Legroom is typically generous in the central blocks. Due to the stage's considerable height, people in the first few rows (A-C) may experience a significant upward viewing angle, potentially causing neck strain, especially during performances where action occurs at stage level. Side stalls provide good views but with a noticeable angle to the stage. The Dress Circle overhang begins to obscure the very top of the stage for seats from approximately row T/U onwards. Private boxes are situated at the sides, offering an intimate but angled perspective.
