About The Venue

The New Wimbledon Theatre, opened in 1910, is a magnificent Grade II listed Edwardian Baroque building designed by J.B. Mullin. Its grand interior, featuring an ornate dome and lavish decoration, provides a classic theatrical atmosphere. The theatre hosts a diverse programme, including West End musicals, plays, ballet, opera, and its renowned annual pantomime, making it a vibrant cultural hub in South West London.

Seating

The ground-floor seating area, offering close proximity to the stage. The rake is generally good, providing clear sightlines over heads. Legroom is standard for a theatre of this era, which may feel restrictive for taller individuals, particularly in central rows. Front rows (A-C) may require looking up at the stage, potentially causing neck strain for productions with significant vertical staging. The Dress Circle overhang begins around row M/N, which can obscure the very top of the stage for people seated in the rear rows of the Stalls. Side Stalls seats offer an angled view, with increasing restriction towards the extreme sides. Aisle seats typically provide marginally better legroom.

Toilets

Gents and Ladies on all levels; Accessible with baby-changing facilities at Stalls level, rear of seating.

Bars

2 bars: Stalls Bar (accessible), Piano Bar (Dress Circle).
