About The Venue

The Phoenix Theatre, opened in 1930, is a stunning example of Italianate design, featuring an ornate auditorium with intricate plasterwork, golden phoenixes, and a distinctive proscenium arch. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, Bertie Crewe, and Cecil Masey, it offers an intimate and elegant atmosphere. It has hosted a diverse range of productions, from Noël Coward premieres to long-running musicals, establishing itself as a cherished West End venue. Its opulent interior provides a truly classic theatrical experience.

Seating

The Stalls section is located on the ground floor, offering a close and immersive experience. The seating features a good rake, ensuring generally clear sightlines over the heads of those in front. However, the overhang from the Dress Circle begins around Row K/L, progressively obscuring the very top of the stage for seats further back. people in the rear Stalls (from Row M onwards) may find the top of the proscenium arch or high-set scenery partially cut off. Legroom is generally adequate in the central blocks, though it can be more restricted towards the ends of rows. Side seats in the Stalls may offer a slightly angled view of the stage, particularly in the front rows.
