President Hotel

The President Hotel is a large Bloomsbury hotel, a few minutes' walk from Russell Square station and the British Museum, with a vintage sixties theme inspired by The Beatles, who stayed here in 1963 when they first moved down from Liverpool. It has 523 guest rooms. It is the London home of Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, the interactive comedy dinner based on the BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers, which runs here as an open-ended residency; the show opened in London in 2012 and moved to this hotel in 2022. Guests are seated at tables in a hotel function room and served a three-course meal by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, who are in character for the whole two hours.

Good to know

Faulty Towers is staged in one of the hotel's function rooms, laid out as a restaurant with tables of up to 10 to 12 rather than rows of seats. There is a pre-show reception area outside the room, and you can get up from your table during the evening. The hotel offers Faulty Towers guests 10% off its standard room rate: contact its reservations team and say you are seeing the show.

Food and drink

The 2026 set menu is a starter of tomato soup with basil oil, with a bread roll and butter (gluten-free available). The main is roast chicken with gravy, carrot puree, savoy cabbage and dauphinoise potato, or, if you have pre-ordered an alternative menu in advance, a sweet potato and courgette timbale with baby carrot, roasted red pepper sauce and tenderstem broccoli. Dessert is a lemon and berries cheesecake with chantilly cream and a fruits of the forest compote. The soup, timbale and cheesecake are marked vegan on the menu, which is subject to change. Tell the company about special diets at least 24 hours ahead; for a nut allergy, tell them at least 72 hours ahead, because the hotel and company can refuse admission if they only learn of it on the day, and a gag in the show uses peanuts, for which they source a nut-free alternative the manufacturer cannot fully guarantee. All food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts, gluten and other allergens are present. Use the show's special diets form or customer service on 020 3700 3138.
