About The Venue

The Queen Elizabeth Hall, opened in 1967 as part of the Southbank Centre, is a modernist concert hall renowned for its distinctive brutalist architecture and intimate atmosphere. A Grade II* listed building, it is celebrated for its architectural significance and excellent acoustics. It hosts a diverse programme of classical, contemporary, and popular music, alongside dance and spoken word events.

Seating

The Stalls form the main ground-level seating area of the Queen Elizabeth Hall. This section is well-raked, ensuring generally good sightlines over the heads of those in front, even from the rear rows. The seating is divided into Left, Centre, and Right blocks. Legroom is standard for a venue of this type, adequate for most but not exceptionally generous. The front rows (A-C) offer an immersive experience, being very close to the stage, which is excellent for musical performances but may require a slight upward gaze. Mid-stalls (rows D-M) are often considered prime for a balanced view and optimal sound quality. Rear stalls provide a good overall perspective of the stage and performers. There are no structural obstructions like pillars within the Stalls, ensuring clear views throughout.
