About The Venue

Soho Theatre Walthamstow is a stunning restoration of the Grade II* listed former EMD Cinema, originally the Granada Cinema, an Art Deco masterpiece from 1930. This ambitious project has transformed the historic building into a vibrant cultural hub, blending its original grandeur with modern theatrical facilities. It now serves as a major venue for comedy, theatre, and music, aiming to enrich the cultural landscape of East London.

Seating

Located on the ground floor, the Stalls offer an immersive viewing experience with direct access to the stage level. The seating is newly installed, designed for modern comfort and optimized sightlines within the meticulously restored Art Deco auditorium. Central rows typically provide excellent, unobstructed views of the entire stage. While the rake is generally gentle, common in former cinema spaces, the new seating aims to minimize potential obstructions from people in front. Legroom is generally generous. Seats at the extreme sides of the front rows may offer an angled perspective of the stage, potentially cutting off extreme stage left or right depending on the production.

Toilets

Accessible loos on every floor, including a Changing Places toilet front of house. Gender-neutral cubicles on 3rd floor (Upstairs) and outside/inside Downstairs venue. No accessible toilets in Downstairs venue, nearest on first floor via lift.

Bars

4 bars: Main Foyer, Ziggurat, Cross Hall, and Circle.

Cloakroom

Not available, limited buggy storage only.

Stage Door

On the side of the building, near HSBC.
