About The Venue

The Other Palace, originally opened as the St. James Theatre in 2012, was rebranded in 2017 by Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group. It is a modern, purpose-built theatre designed to be a hub for new musicals and developing talent, offering an intimate and contemporary atmosphere. It features a main theatre and a smaller studio space, providing a unique platform for innovative productions away from the traditional West End.

Seating

The Main Theatre at The Other Palace is a highly adaptable space, meaning the seating configuration can vary significantly depending on the production. It typically accommodates up to 312 people. Common layouts include end-on, thrust, or in-the-round staging. Seating is generally arranged in a single tier, often with a gentle rake to ensure good sightlines. The chairs are modern and comfortable, with reasonable legroom for an Off-West End venue. Due to the intimate scale and flexible nature of the theatre, most seats offer excellent, close-up views of the stage, providing an immersive experience. Potential restricted views are rare and usually specific to a particular production's set design rather than architectural features. people should check the specific seating plan for the show they are attending, as the layout can be unique to each production.
