Derren Brown: Only Human

Only Human is a live show from Derren Brown combining mind-reading, psychological illusion and storytelling to ask what it means to be human. It looks at perception, belief and the fragile line between reality and illusion, and the show's content is otherwise kept under wraps.

It plays at the Apollo Theatre. The running time is about 2 hours 25 minutes including one interval. The show is not suitable for children under 12, and audience members may be filmed during the performance.

How to book

Derren Brown: Only Human sells steadily, so you can usually pick a date and a seat without racing. An off-peak date saves roughly 18%, with mid-range seats at £42–£55 against £43–£65 at peak.

Ways to pay less

There is no need to book far ahead, as the show sells steadily. The easiest saving is to pick an off-peak date, where mid-range seats run £42–£55 against £43–£65 on peak dates, roughly 18% more. For the lowest price, budget seats start from £25 off-peak, but be aware of the distant view and tight legroom in the Balcony. The best value for a good view is a mid-range seat on an off-peak night. There are no specific discounts for students, groups, or families.

Where to sit

At the Apollo, the Dress Circle is prime from Rows A to E, though the Row A rail can be a nuisance. The mid-Stalls give solid views; avoid the front rows and the back under the overhang. The Grand Circle has good sightlines thanks to its steep rake, but tight legroom and a distant view, and the Balcony is very high, distant and tight. Seats run from £25 to £115.
