The Children
Lucy Kirkwood's drama is set near a radiation exclusion zone after a nuclear disaster. Hazel and Robin, two retired nuclear scientists, keep to their routines with yoga and homemade wine until an old friend and colleague, Rose, arrives unexpectedly. She brings memories, secrets and a proposition that tests their loyalty and their obligations to future generations.
This is a revival marking ten years since the play's 2016 premiere, directed by Rachel O'Riordan, the Lyric's artistic director. Meera Syal plays Hazel, Declan Conlon plays Robin and Kerry Fox plays Rose. Running time is 90 minutes. Recommended for ages 14+.

The Children closes on 3 October 2026, so book the date you can make. Seats at the Lyric Hammersmith are cheap, from £10 to £60, and peak and off-peak prices are close.
Ways to pay less
The best value is the Central Tickets seat-filler offer at £15, but it's only available for the final four days of the run, from Wednesday 30 September to Saturday 3 October. There's no need to book far ahead unless you want a specific seat, as peak and off-peak prices are close. Groups of eight or more pay less, saving £5 on tickets in Price Bands B and C.

The Dress Circle is the prime choice, with panoramic, comfortable views. The Stalls get you close, but watch for neck strain and side angles, and the Upper Circle is the value pick, with a good overall view but less detail.
