The Jungle Book
Anupama Chandrasekhar's new adaptation of Kipling's story, directed by Indhu Rubasingham, moves the action to the mangroves of the Sundarbans, where Mowgli, raised by wolves, learns the law of the jungle with Baloo and Bagheera while Shere Khan closes in.

How to book
The Jungle Book sells strongly at the National Theatre, so the cheapest seats for a date go first. Preview performances are cheaper, from £20, and an off-peak date saves roughly 14%, with mid-range seats at £51–£72 against £62–£82 at peak.
Ways to pay less
The best value is a preview performance from £20, so book ahead as the cheapest seats go first. An off-peak date is an easy saving, with mid-range seats topping out at £72 against £82 on peak dates. If you are happy to gamble, £10 day tickets are released each Friday for the following week, though a seat is not guaranteed. 16–25-year-olds pay from £5, and groups of ten or more get the biggest reduction, from £10 a head.

From the week before the shows are due to start, at 1pm every Friday they will release £10 Friday "Rush" Day tickets for the following Mon to Sat performances. School groups of 10+ (students aged 18 or under) pay £10 a ticket at UK state and SEND schools, or £12 at independent schools, with one teacher at the same price per nine pupils. Where to sit
The Olivier's Circle is often considered its best seats, with a superb view of the stage and set. The Stalls have a great rake and direct views, but Rows A to D mean craning your neck. Seats run from £25 to £105.
