Tru
Jay Presson Allen's play Tru stars Tony-Award winning actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) as Truman Capote. Set in Capote's New York apartment in December 1975, the play depicts him alone after the publication of an excerpt from his tell-all novel Answered Prayers, reflecting on his life, career, and the fallout from the book, while dealing with loneliness and addiction. Directed by Award-winner Rob Ashford, this sell-out success from New York comes to London for a strictly limited season.

Buying advice
How to book
Tru closes on 14 November 2026, so there is no long game here: book for the date you can make. Premium seats hold at £70.25 whether you book months ahead or in the final week, so waiting costs nothing on price at the top of the house; what it costs is choice of seat. Peak and off-peak prices are close, so choose the date that suits you rather than the one that saves a few pounds.

Where to sit
The Menier's Stalls are intimate, with an excellent rake. Row A is very close to the stage, and legroom can be tight in the middle of a row.
