About The Venue

The Apollo Victoria Theatre, a magnificent Grade II* listed Art Deco masterpiece, opened in 1930 as a cinema and variety theatre. Its grand, spacious interior, designed by W. Edward Trent and Ernest Wamsley Lewis, retains much of its original elegance, featuring a distinctive underwater theme. Renowned for hosting large-scale musicals, it has been the beloved home of *Wicked* since 2006, offering audiences a truly immersive theatrical experience.

Seating

The ground-floor Stalls tier is immense, housing approximately 1,300 seats and split into front and rear blocks by a wide cross-walkway behind Row P. Because the auditorium is exceptionally wide, seats on the extreme outer wings (such as Rows G through Q, seats 1 to 7 and 45 to 52) face the stage at an acute diagonal angle, which distorts depth perception and can block your view of the opposite far wing. The rake through the front block (Rows A to P) is quite gentle, making sightlines to the lower stage floor vulnerable to tall patrons sitting directly ahead. The Dress Circle overhangs the Stalls starting at Row R; by the time you reach Rows W through ZZZ, the low ceiling creates a severe overhang that cuts off the top half of the proscenium arch, hiding elevated scenic elements. Centre seats in Rows H through N (seats 15 to 35) are the premium sweet spot, offering perfect center-stage views clear of the overhang with the best acoustic balance. Standard legroom is decent throughout the level, and Row Q directly behind the cross-aisle offers unlimited legroom to stretch out. Additionally, the entire ground floor is heavily climate-controlled by large-capacity industrial ventilation, keeping the air consistently cool and fresh.
