About The Venue

The Apollo Victoria Theatre, a magnificent Grade II* listed Art Deco masterpiece, opened in 1930 as a cinema and variety theatre. Its grand, spacious interior, designed by W. Edward Trent and Ernest Wamsley Lewis, retains much of its original elegance, featuring a distinctive underwater theme. Renowned for hosting large-scale musicals, it has been the beloved home of *Wicked* since 2006, offering audiences a truly immersive theatrical experience.

Seating

The Stalls section at the Apollo Victoria Theatre is a large, expansive area with a generally good rake, ensuring clear sightlines over heads for most people. As the theatre was originally designed as a cinema, the Stalls are particularly deep and wide. Seats in the central block from Row A to approximately Row P offer excellent, unobstructed views of the entire stage, providing an immersive experience. Legroom is generally considered good throughout the Stalls, though it can feel slightly more generous in aisle seats. Towards the rear of the Stalls, from around Row S onwards, the Dress Circle overhang becomes noticeable, potentially obscuring the very top of the stage for taller sets or projections. This effect is more pronounced in the final few rows (e.g., Row V, W). Side blocks in the Stalls, particularly those further back, may require a slight head turn to face the stage directly, and views from the extreme sides can be partially restricted by the proscenium arch for action happening at the very edges of the stage. Wheelchair accessible seating is typically located in the rear Stalls, offering good views.
