Wicked reimagines the world of The Wizard of Oz, telling the untold story of two unlikely university friends who go on to become Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
It is based on Gregory Maguire's novel, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. Joe Mantello directs. The production has played at the Apollo Victoria Theatre since 2006 and is one of the longest-running shows in the West End. Running time is 2 hours 45 minutes including one interval. The theatre's page recommends ages 7+, and children under 5 cannot be admitted.

Wicked sells strongly and is booking to May 2027, so for any given date the cheapest seats go first. The easy saving is an off-peak date: mid-range seats are £60–£80, against £70–£110 on peak nights, about 38% more.

If you are happy to gamble, £29.50 Rush tickets are available daily via the TodayTix app, though a seat is not guaranteed. Students pay from £28.75 and groups of ten or more get the biggest reduction, from £35 a head.

Where to sit
The official site asks whether to book with it or with the theatre; the prices are identical, so pick either. The centre Stalls are fantastic, but the deep overhang and extreme side angles spoil the rear and the edges. The Dress Circle gives the widest view but feels distant at the back, and Row A has a safety bar in the sightline.
