Seating

Holloway Theatre (Main Auditorium)

The Bush Theatre's principal performance space, the Holloway Theatre, is an exceptionally intimate venue, seating between 160 and 220 patrons depending on the production. Its versatile design allows the stage to be completely reconfigured, from end-on to thrust or in-the-round layouts.

When configured in its popular three-sided thrust layout, seating is split into three sections: the Centre Block (Block B) offers a balanced, direct view, while the Side Blocks (Blocks A & C) wrap around the stage, placing you exceptionally close to the performers at the cost of viewing more side profiles. Rows are steeply sloped to ensure clear sightlines over the heads of those in front, giving every seat a feeling of being right on the stage.

Individual, cushioned chairs are designed without armrests, allowing rows to sit tightly and flush together.

Attic (Studio Space)

Located towards the back of the building, the Attic is an even smaller, 60-to-70-capacity black-box venue dedicated to showcasing emerging artists. This space offers the ultimate fringe theatre experience, where the boundary between the performance space and the front row is virtually non-existent.

While the seating arrangement changes to meet the creative team's needs, chairs are typically configured on three sides of the room. Mirroring the design of the main house, these individual chairs are built without armrests, but here they are placed on a single flat level.
