About The Venue

The Bush Theatre, established in 1972, is a renowned new writing theatre dedicated to discovering and nurturing the best new playwrights and diverse voices. Originally located above a pub, it moved to the stunningly renovated Old Shepherd's Bush Library in 2017, offering a contemporary and intimate setting. It's celebrated for its commitment to innovative, challenging, and often politically charged work, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for both artists and audiences.

Seating

The Attic is the Bush Theatre's smaller, more intimate studio space, typically seating around 50-70 people. This space is also highly flexible, often used for new writing, workshops, and smaller-scale productions. Seating is usually unreserved and arranged in a simple, adaptable configuration, often with a flat floor or minimal risers. The close proximity to the performance area ensures excellent, unobstructed views and a very direct, immersive experience. Legroom is generally adequate, and the focus is on the raw, immediate connection to the work. There are no traditional restricted views, but the specific layout for each production will dictate the precise audience perspective.

Toilets

First floor: non-gendered (5 stalls; 3 urinals + 1 stall). Ground floor: single-use accessible cubicle with baby-changing facilities.
