About The Venue

The Charing Cross Theatre, nestled beneath the arches of Charing Cross railway station, offers a uniquely intimate theatrical experience. Originally known as The Players' Theatre, famous for its Victorian music hall revivals, it now stages a diverse programme of ambitious musicals and plays. Its compact design and thrust stage create a close connection between performers and audience, fostering a distinctive and engaging atmosphere.

Seating

The Charing Cross Theatre features a single, intimate auditorium with well-raked seating, ensuring generally excellent sightlines throughout. Located beneath the arches of Charing Cross Station, the theatre's unique architecture contributes to a close and immersive theatrical experience. Seating is arranged in a single block, with no traditional separate tiers like a Dress Circle or Upper Circle. Legroom is generally considered adequate, though it can vary slightly depending on the specific seat and the production's stage configuration. Due to the intimate nature and raked design, most seats offer a clear and direct view of the stage. There are typically no structural pillars causing significant restricted views, but very occasionally, specific set designs for certain productions might lead to minor partial obstructions from extreme side seats. The proximity to the stage is a defining characteristic, making for a highly engaging viewing experience.
