About The Venue

The London County Hall, a magnificent Grade II* listed building on the South Bank, offers a unique and grand theatrical experience, often transforming its historic chambers into immersive performance spaces. Originally the seat of London's local government, its imposing architecture and rich history provide a distinctive backdrop for productions, most notably the acclaimed 'Witness for the Prosecution' in its former Council Chamber. The atmosphere is one of historical grandeur combined with the intimacy of a site-specific performance.

Seating

Located on the main floor of the historic Council Chamber, these seats surround the central courtroom stage, offering an exceptionally immersive experience for productions like 'Witness for the Prosecution'. Seating here varies, including individual seats and longer benches. Some of the most sought-after seats are within the actual 'Jury Box' or 'Press Box', placing audience members directly alongside the actors and action, providing unparalleled proximity but potentially requiring head-turning to follow the full scene. Views are generally excellent for the immediate action, though some peripheral views might be restricted depending on the specific seat and staging. Legroom can be variable, particularly in the more unique, immersive sections. This level provides a visceral connection to the unfolding drama.
