Witness for the Prosecution
Agatha Christie's courtroom drama is staged in the historic Council Chamber at London County Hall, dressed as an Old Bailey courtroom, with the trial unfolding around the audience. Leonard Vole is accused of murdering a widow for her wealth, and prosecution and defence clash as witnesses give shocking testimony, not least when his wife agrees to testify against him.
Christie adapted her 1925 short story into the play in 1953. Lucy Bailey directs. The cast includes Matthew McGivern as Leonard Vole, Jo Stone-Fewings as Sir Wilfrid Robarts QC and Sophie Craig as Romaine Vole. Running time is 2 hours 20 minutes including an interval, and the age guidance is 10+.

Witness for the Prosecution is staged in a real disused courtroom at County Hall, which makes where you sit part of the experience. It sells steadily and is booking to September 2027. Off-peak dates save roughly 12%, with mid-range seats at £60–£82 against £72–£92 at peak.
Ways to pay less
The £25 rush tickets on the TodayTix app are the cheapest way in, but a seat is not guaranteed. Otherwise, book ahead for an off-peak date, which saves around 12% on mid-range seats, topping out at £82 against £92 on peak dates. Weekends sell strongly, so book those well in advance. For midweek, you can usually pick a date and seat without racing. Groups of 20 or more pay the least, from £29.50 a head.
