About The Venue

The Kiln Theatre, formerly the Tricycle Theatre, is a vibrant cultural hub in Kilburn, North West London, renowned for its commitment to diverse new writing and politically charged productions. Reopened in 2018 after a significant redevelopment, it offers an intimate and welcoming atmosphere within a modern, accessible architectural design. The theatre actively engages with its local community, fostering a strong connection through its programming and outreach.

Seating

The Kiln Theatre's main auditorium is a highly adaptable, single-level space renowned for its flexible staging. It frequently employs a thrust stage configuration, where the audience surrounds the performance on three sides, fostering an intimate and immersive experience. Alternatively, it can be set up with a more traditional proscenium arch. The seating is generally well-raked, ensuring excellent sightlines over the heads of those in front from most positions. Due to the flexible nature of the space, the exact seating plan, row configuration, and seat numbering can vary significantly with each production. Legroom is typically comfortable for an Off-West End venue, though specific seats may offer slightly more or less depending on the production's layout and set design. There are no traditional architectural obstructions like pillars. Restricted views are minimal and generally only occur if a specific set design creates a temporary, minor obstruction for extreme side seats, which is rare given the theatre's design philosophy of direct audience engagement. Wheelchair accessible seating is integrated into this level, often in the front rows or designated areas, providing unobstructed views.
