About The Venue

Opened in 1888, the Lyric Theatre is the oldest surviving theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, designed by C.J. Phipps. It boasts a beautiful Victorian interior, known for its ornate plasterwork and intimate atmosphere. Having hosted a diverse range of productions from operettas to long-running musicals, it remains a significant West End landmark.

Seating

The Stalls are located on the ground floor, offering an immersive experience. The rake is generally good, providing clear sightlines over the heads of those in front. However, the Dress Circle overhang begins around Row K/L, which can cut off the very top of the stage for seats from Row M backwards, particularly for productions with significant vertical staging. Legroom is adequate in most rows but can be tight in central rows for taller individuals. The front few rows (A-C) offer a very close view but may require looking up at the stage, while seats towards the ends of rows can provide slightly more legroom with a slightly angled view.
