About The Venue

The Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre is a modern, state-of-the-art flexible theatre venue situated in the heart of Canary Wharf's Wood Wharf. Specifically designed to house large-scale immersive and spectacular theatrical events, it offers comfortable seating, excellent sightlines, and is located directly next to the Songbird Restaurant & Bar.

Seating

The ground-level Stalls are divided into ten distinct districts (1 through 10) that wrap around the oval central stage, starting at Row A at stage level and raking steeply upward to ensure clear sightlines. Districts 1 and 2, located at the ends of the oval, are unique moving seating blocks that mechanically shift position during the performance to make room for set pieces, which adds a theme-park-style thrill but restricts patrons from leaving the auditorium during the act. For the best overall experience, the sweet spot is Rows D to K in Districts 4, 5, 8, and 9, which offer a balanced, elevated panoramic view of the floor projections and staging. Those seeking high immersion can opt for Rows A and B (outside of Districts 1 and 2) to experience close cast interactions, while District 2 is preferred over District 1 for a better viewing angle of the screens and main performances. For budget-friendly options with a clean view, the back row (Row Q) of District 10 provides an unobstructed bird's-eye view, but try to avoid aisle seats in the central districts as safety handrails can slightly restrict the view.

Special Notes

The 11 themed Districts of the custom-built, in-the-round auditorium at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre for The Hunger Games: On Stage are outlined below:

DistrictLocation in TheatreMoves?View Quality & Experience
District 1Ground / Tiered (Short end of the oval)YESExcellent & Immersive: Slides/swings mechanically during the show. Highly interactive, though you cannot leave your seat mid-act due to the moving parts.
District 2Ground / Tiered (Short end opposite District 1)YESExcellent & Immersive: Moves mechanically like District 1, but audience reviews note it gives a slightly better visual angle for the major screen projections and character performances.
District 3Ground / Tiered (Corner transition)NoGood: Solid sightlines of the arena, though you view the main action from a slight diagonal angle.
District 4Ground / Tiered (Long side of the oval)NoPremium / The Sweet Spot: Offers a perfect, balanced, panoramic view of the entire stage floor and projections—especially in rows D through K.
District 5Ground / Tiered (Long side next to District 4)NoPremium / The Sweet Spot: Highly recommended for first-time viewers alongside District 4 for central, unobstructed views.
District 6Ground / Tiered (Corner transition)NoGood: Very clear 360-degree views, though seats in the very front rows (Rows A & B) can face slight obstructions from the physical stage barrier.
District 7Ground / Tiered (Corner transition)NoGood: Great clear view of the stage, but note that because Districts 7–10 share a single exit door, this section can face slow exit times post-show.
District 8Ground / Tiered (Long side opposite Dist. 4/5)NoPremium: Excellent central perspective looking straight across the widest part of the stage arena. No obstructions.
District 9Ground / Tiered (Long side next to District 8)NoPremium: Fantastic view close to the action. Front rows feel incredibly spacious and feature built-in cup holders.
District 10Ground / Tiered (Corner transition)NoGreat Value: Generally excellent views. The Centre of the very back row (Row Q) offers a completely clear overhead view for a cheaper price.
District 11Elevated Upper Level (2-row Balcony)NoBudget Friendly: The cheapest seats in the house. You have a full overview of the arena, but you must lean forward to avoid safety rails blocking your line of sight.
