The Hunger Games on Stage
The Hunger Games: On Stage is the first theatre adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel, drawing on the Lionsgate film as well. It follows Katniss Everdeen as she navigates a dystopian competition for survival, exploring themes of courage, sacrifice and defiance.
Conor McPherson, known for Girl from the North Country and The Weir, has written the adaptation, and Matthew Dunster, who also directed 2:22 - A Ghost Story and Hangmen, directs. It plays at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, a 1,200-seat venue in Canary Wharf, where it began performances in October 2025.

How to book
The Hunger Games plays in a purpose-built arena in Canary Wharf, a few miles from central London but easy to reach on the Elizabeth or Jubilee lines. It sells steadily and is booking to February 2027. A new Year Two cast begins on 23 October 2026, led by Elizabeth Anderson as Katniss and Vinnie Copeland as Peeta.
Ways to pay less
The best way to pay less is to save up to 55% on tickets from TodayTix. You can usually leave it to the day, as TKTS has it nearly every day at around 45% off, so there is little point booking weeks ahead unless you want a particular seat. If you're happy to gamble, the weekly lottery at £30 is another way in, though a seat is not guaranteed. Pick an off-peak date if you can, as mid-range seats top out at £75 against £95 on peak dates, about 27% more. Groups of 10 or more get the biggest reduction, from £39.50 a head.
