Austentatious

Austentatious is an improvised comedy in the style of Jane Austen. The cast takes a title suggested by the audience and improvises a new Austen-style novel on the spot, performed in period costume with live musical accompaniment.

The rotating ensemble features performers including Rachel Parris, Cariad Lloyd, Joseph Morpurgo and Graham Dickson. The show has been a West End fixture since 2022 and plays at the Vaudeville Theatre. The running time is about 1 hour 50 minutes including one interval, and the theatre recommends it for ages 14+, noting adult themes, language and content.

Where to sit

The Dress Circle is the Vaudeville's sweet spot for views and comfort, though Row A has a rail. The Stalls have a good rake but tight legroom and an overhang, and the Grand Circle gives a panoramic view after a climb.
