Gianni Schicchi (or Where There’s A Will)

OperaUpClose presents a new version of Puccini's classic opera, Gianni Schicchi (or Where There’s A Will), reimagined by Hannah Kumari and re-orchestrated by Vahan Salorian, and directed by 2025 Sky Arts Award winner PJ Harris. Inspired by modern 'whodunnits' like The White Lotus and Knives Out, this satirical take brings the story into the 21st Century.

Set in the fictional seaside town of Harmouth, a wealthy second-home owner's seasonal soirée unravels. The local 'fixer' Gianni Schicchi enters the fray as things worsen for the entitled liberal elite, raising questions about accountability. The show is performed in English and is recommended for ages 10+.
