The Banality of Evil: Hannah Arendt, France, 1940
In May 1940, three German Jewish women – Hannah Arendt, Charlotte Salomon, and Eva Daube – are arrested in France and transported to Camp Gurs. Branded “Undesirables,” they face an impossible choice: stay or risk escape. This world premiere from writer and director Julia Pascal blends satire, physical theatre, and cabaret to reveal forgotten histories, focusing on a pivotal moment in Hannah Arendt's life that informed her later work on power and human rights.
