Disney's The Lion King
Based on Disney's animated film, the musical is set in the African Pridelands and follows the young lion Simba as he faces loss, discovers who he is and grows towards his destiny as king.
The score is by Elton John and Tim Rice, with the book adapted by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi. Julie Taymor directs and designed the costumes and puppetry, which show the performer and the puppet to the audience together. The production has played at the Lyceum Theatre since 1999. The running time is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval. Recommended for ages 6+.

Where to sit
The Stalls are the sweet spot for sightlines and comfort, as long as you choose your row carefully. The Royal Circle gives superb elevated views, but check for obstructions before you book. The Grand Circle is the budget choice: a climb, with distant views. Seats run from £38 to £148.
