Jesus Christ Superstar
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera, which follows the last days of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas. This staging was first seen at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre and later played the London Palladium before moving to Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Tim Sheader directs, with choreography by Drew McOnie and design by Tom Scutt. Sam Ryder plays Jesus, with Tyrone Huntley as Judas, Desmonda Cathabel as Mary Magdalene and David Thaxton as Pontius Pilate. The role of King Herod rotates through a series of guest performers during the Drury Lane run.
Glenn Close will play Herod from 4 to 9 January 2027, joining a cast that includes Sam Ryder as Jesus, Tyrone Huntley as Judas Iscariot, and Desmonda Cathabel as Mary Magdalene.

Where to sit
At Drury Lane, the Royal Circle is the premium tier, with superb panoramic views and excellent legroom. The Stalls are prime, but mind your neck at the front and the overhang at the back. The Grand Circle is solid but distant, and the Balcony is the cheapest way in, with tight legroom and possible obstructions.
