About TKTS

Official London Theatre, more commonly known as TKTS, is run by the organisation Society of London Theatre (SOLT).

SOLT is a not-for-profit organisation, and therefore has the edge over agencies who will generally charge a commission on ticket sales. Whilst they offer tickets for future performances of shows, it is their Today's Tickets offers and annual promotions where you can find the real bargains.

Today's Tickets should always be your go-to option for seeking out same-day tickets or even for some performances the following day. Shows looking to sell their remaining tickets for the day's matinee or evening performance will often sell them for a fraction of their original price, with savings of up to 65% depending on the show and performance day.

Typically these deals are better during off-peak periods, especially from Monday to Thursday, although there will still usually be plenty of deals during peak times also.

There are also some annual promotions exclusively available on the TKTS website, most notably the New Year Sale, which runs from late November until the end of January, and has some fantastic offers for many of the top shows, with pricing ranging from £10 - £60.

These deals and promotions are available not only on West End shows, but many other Off-West End and some Fringe shows too.

When to Buy

The Today's Tickets page will be updated with the latest listings every day at 12:01 am.

In almost all cases, it's fine to wait until the next morning to buy tickets for a show. In most cases, you can even wait until late into the afternoon.

The best seats will get taken first, so the sooner you book the better. Some shows will only release a handful of tickets for a performance, so if it's a popular show these could get bought up quickly.

You can now also buy tickets for the following day, although these tend to be less appealing and it's usually best just to wait until the morning of the performance to buy tickets for that day.

Using Today's Tickets

1

Open Today's Tickets

Open the Today's Tickets page to see the latest deals.

Open Today's Tickets
2

Filter by Special Offers

Filter the page by clicking the 'Special Offers' button. While you may still find some good deals that aren't classed as a Special Offer, it's these that tend to have the largest savings.

3

Choose Your Day

Filter by 'Today' or 'Tomorrow'. Most deals are for the current day, but some shows will have availability for the following day.

4

Book the Right Offer

Look specifically for offers with a percentage discount. Offers that say 'Exclusive Price' will not be as good value. Click 'Book Tickets', then crucially select the button inside the 'Special Offer' section to see the discounted price.

5

Select & Pay

Pick your seats from the seating plan. where you'll see the seats available along with the discount. Simply select your seats and purchase. You'll be sent an email with the e-tickets attached, which don't need to be printed out.

The TKTS Booth

Apart from the website, Official London Theatre also have a physical TKTS ticket booth located right in the heart of the West End. This is located in Leicester Square, at the south end behind the fountain.

Opening Hours

DayHours
Mon - Sat10:30 am - 6 pm
Sunday11 am - 4 pm

The TKTS booth will have the same great deals as their website. The booth is equipped with screens that displays all the available shows and discounts, making it easy to find what you're looking for. If you are still not sure, then the staff will be more than happy to help you find the perfect show for you.

This is a great option if you're in London and are unsure what to see. The knowledgeable staff here will help guide you to find the best shows that match your preferences, and will also ensure you get the best seat available.

Timing Your Visit

Depending on the time of day, the queue here can get quite long, so I would suggest coming here no later than 60 minutes before it's closing time.

Bear in mind that while most shows start at 7:30 pm, there are some that start earlier. Also, not all West End shows are located within the immediate theatre district—Hamilton and Wicked are actually located in Victoria, which is a good 40 minutes away from the booth.
