Kimberly Belflower’s acclaimed play, John Proctor is the Villain, transfers to the West End after a sold-out Royal Court run. Directed by Tony Award-winner Danya Taymor, this production explores girlhood, power, and the courage to question what we think we know, as five young women in a small town uncover dark truths. The show contains sensitive content including depictions of grooming and abusive relationship dynamics.

Ways to pay less There's no need to book far ahead as the show sells steadily, not out, so you won't miss out on seats. Peak performances carry a surcharge, making mid-range seats about 6% more, but the difference is small enough that you should choose the date that suits you. The exception is Saturday, which is the most expensive night, with premium seats reaching £165 against £135 on other nights. The best value is a budget seat on an off-peak date at £25–£35, but be aware of the high and steep Balcony, or the distant views from the Grand Circle.

Where to sit
The Royal Circle is the premium choice for a balanced view; watch the Row A rail and the overhang over the back row. The Stalls are the most immersive, but the front rows crane the neck and the back rows lose the top of the stage. The Grand Circle is good value in the centre but high and distant, and the Balcony is very high and steep. Seats run from £25 to £165.
