Hamilton
The musical tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's aide during the American Revolutionary War and helped to shape the new United States. It is based on Ron Chernow's biography, and the score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway styles.
Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the book, music and lyrics. Thomas Kail directs, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Running time is approximately 2 hours 45 minutes including an interval. Suitable for ages 10+, as it contains some strong language.

How to book
Hamilton is booking to October 2027 and still sells strongly, so for any given date the cheap seats go first and the expensive ones linger. Top-price seats stay at £185 whether you book months out or the week before, but the budget end climbs as a date nears, so book a few weeks ahead if you want the back of the house cheaply. Monday and Wednesday are the cheapest nights: the priciest seat is £185, against £225 on a Friday.
Ways to pay less
For a Friday or Saturday, book ahead as the cheapest seats go first. Midweek, you can chance the day: TKTS often has decent mid-range seats for off-peak performances, usually at around 41% off, which is often the best price. If you prefer to book ahead, the early-bird rate from £39.50 is the sure alternative. Pick an off-peak date for an easy saving, as mid-range seats are about 19% more on peak dates. If you're happy to gamble, the weekly lottery at £10 is cheaper still, though a seat is not guaranteed. Groups of 10 or more get the biggest reduction, from £49.50 a head.

Where to sit
The best value in the house is the front row of the Royal Circle at the far sides: £80 off-peak, £90 peak, with an unobstructed view. They sell out at least a month ahead. The Grand Circle is the honest budget choice, a good panoramic view for the climb; avoid the very front Stalls, which mean a night of neck-craning.
