Dirty Dancing
Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage is a stage version of the 1987 film, written by the film's screenwriter, Eleanor Bergstein. It follows Frances 'Baby' Houseman, who falls for working-class dance instructor Johnny Castle at the resort where her family is on holiday. The score draws on the film's soundtrack, including (I've Had) The Time of My Life.
Federico Bellone directs and designs the set, with new choreography by Chiara Vecchi. The production was due to open at the new Capital Theatre at Westfield London, but because of planning delays there it will instead play a limited season at the Prince Edward Theatre from January 2027.
Michael O’Reilly will return as Johnny Castle, Pippa Jackson will make her professional stage debut as Baby Houseman, and Emily Layden-Fritz will play Penny Johnson.
